Chris Cusano is the Executive Director of the CT Brain Tumor Alliance, Inc. After being diagnosed in 2008 with a benign brain tumor, a central neurocytoma, and undergoing five brain surgeries and one stereotactic radiosurgery, he is committed to giving back and helping those in need and being an advocate for the Connecticut brain tumor community.
Chris received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law. Prior to joining the CTBTA as Executive Director, Chris worked for a prominent Hartford law firm in a variety of roles and as a Partnership Manager for the United Way. He is the author of GreyMattersBlog.com.
Elisabeth McNivens joined the CTBTA in July 2017 after graduating from Southern Connecticut State University with a B.A. in Liberal Studies with concentrations in School Health Education and Business Administration.
Elisabeth was a caregiver for her Dad who suffered a stroke in October 2013, until he passed in August 2016. She is passionate about advocating for underrepresented populations and improving quality of life within the mental health and medical fields. In her free time she volunteers for Delta Phi Epsilon International Sorority as part of the CT Alumnae Association and serves on the chapter advisory board for University of Rhode Island.
