CTBTA Presents $10,000 to St. Vincent's Brain Tumor Center at SymposiumJune 11, 2018
On May 24, 2018, the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance (“CTBTA”) attended the St. Vincent’s Brain Tumor Symposium held by neurologist and neuro-oncologist Nicholas Blondin, MD. Topics included new treatments for brain cancer, including the use of electrical fields and viruses to stimulate the immune system, as well as complementary therapies in brain tumor treatment.
CTBTA President Emeritus Tracey Gamer-Fanning shared her experience as a brain tumor survivor, and the CTBTA provided information about our services for brain tumor patients and caregivers.
We were pleased to present Dr. Blondin and the St. Vincent’s Brain Tumor Center with a check for $10,000 to provide Patient Assistance Funds for brain tumor patients, further Dr. Blondin’s brain tumor research, and support the creation of a nurse navigation program for brain tumor patients.
