Allison Owsianko, a recent contender for Miss Connecticut 2016 as “Miss Forestville” has been selected as an Ambassador for the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance ("CTBTA"). A Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance Ambassador is a regional volunteer who advocates on behalf of the CTBTA as a representative in the community, helping to reach new patients and caregivers, and new donors, sponsors, and volunteers who support the cause. As an Ambassador, her territory will include the communities of Simsbury, Canton, Avon, Burlington, Newington, New Britain, Farmington, Berlin, Bristol, Wolcott, Plainville and Southington, as well as Bristol Hospital, the University of Connecticut Health Center, and the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
In accepting her position, Allison noted that the CTBTA "is an organization that I am so passionate about, and [I] have so much love for everyone in it. Miss Forestville...opened up this door, and I am very excited to begin my journey as an Ambassador."
Allison hosted a dinner in Bristol last spring that raised over $8000 in donations for the CTBTA in tribute to her late uncle, Kevin Holden, who passed away from a glioblastoma brain tumor in 2014.
As an Ambassador, Allison represented the CTBTA at the Central Connecticut State University Car Club event in September, with proceeds benefiting the CTBTA and its mission to support brain tumor patients and caregivers.
She is a senior at Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford and resides with her family in the Bristol area.
