The CTBTA presented Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center with a check for $25,000 on Monday, April 29, 2013 to support brain tumor patients. Compassionate and top-quality staff from Saint Francis Hospital and the Saint Francis Foundation were on hand to share stories with the CTBTA about how last year's contribution from the CTBTA has been making a difference in the lives of brain tumor patients:
New software for the CyberKnife, enabling more precision in combating brain tumors, while leaving more of the healthy brain tissue in tact. Wheelchair accessible transportation for a patient who was otherwise unable to get radiation treatments. Coverage for necessary patient treatments, not covered by insurance. And payment of living expenses for a young adult whose brain tumor prevents continued employment.
The CTBTA also learned about exciting new developments coming to the hospital's neuro-oncology department and about the continued need and importance of the CTBTA's support.
The CTBTA was pleased to welcome Barrie Deschaine and Ken Russo from new CTBTA Premier Sponsor, KBE Building Corporation, to the check presentation ceremony. KBE learned firsthand how their generosity and CTBTA's contributions benefit the brain tumor community and their caregivers.
