On July 12, the CT Brain Tumor Alliance established a CTBTA Family Assistance Fund at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC) to help families of children afflicted with Brain Cancer. This fund will be managed by the social workers at CCMC and awarded to families who need assistance paying their utilities, buying groceries, gas cards, meals, childcare for other kids at home, cleaning services, and many of the other "non-medical but overall family
well-being" needs.
CCMC Message of Thanks
Good morning. Nate, Mary and I write to send you a quick note of thanks
for yesterday's check presentation and very generous $15,000 donation to
establish the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance Family Assistance Fund.
We are delighted and most grateful to have the opportunity to help the
families of children with brain tumors who are struggling with extreme
financial hardship. These important funds will make such a difference
in the lives of some very special people. I know that Mary will send
you redacted stories from time to time of the people who have received
assistance.
It was a special pleasure to see you, Hannah and almost the entire board
of the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance. We thank you again for your
continued support and for partnering with Connecticut Children's to help
improve the lives of children with brain tumors and their families in
such a deeply meaningful way.
With best wishes and appreciation,
Chris
