CTBTA Donates $10,000 to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center

A ceremonial check presentaion was made to CCMC's Department of Pediatric Hemotology and Oncolgy in late September, following the CTBTA's actual donation in July 2010. This donation was made in honor of Margaret Helen Ashford.

Margaret was a courageous young girl who lost her battle with cancer on October 15, 2009 at the age of five. She was a resident of Avon, CT, and a ballet student at The Hartt Community Division of the University of Hartford. Her friends have created a scholarship with hopes to both keep the memory of little Margaret alive and to give back to the community by providing need-based scholarships to students who enroll in Discovery or Children's Ballet classes, the classes that gave so much joy to Margaret during her life.
